“I think that the state government urgently needs to balance its yearly budget and maintain a sense of fiscal accountability. It should also keep regulations and taxes at a reasonable level to encourage economic growth. Instead of building a high speed train, Sacramento ought to upgrade existing bridges, dams, parks, and roads.
The state could improve if it allowed its residents to have greater choices in the spheres of education and healthcare. Parents should be able to send their children to whatever school they choose, as well as make decisions on their doctors and insurance providers. The government should get out of the business of healthcare and return to the business of defending individual liberties and beefing up public safety.
The state could also set an example to encourage limited government, community solutions, free markets, and merit based success. It needs to move beyond the divisiveness of identity politics. Thank you.”
