“I think that we could improve our state if we bring families back together. What happened to families sitting at the dinner table, talking about their day, connecting with their children so that they are not detached. Now when families go out to eat for dinner every one has their cell phones in their hands, no one is talking, or interacting with one another; which is the reason that there is divorce, and children are in the juvenile system and on drugs.

I am proposing that we dedicate a night where families commit to gathering around the dinner table, turn off their cell phones and actually talk during dinner. Each family would sign and commit that day to reconnecting with their family. They commit to rebuilding their family relationship with their children and with their spouses.”
